Study advice/ How to make the most of your lessons reuse what you have learned
Hi everyone,
I know I have told you many times to review review review and that is of course very important but it is even more important to use what you have learned. My advice today would be to take what you have learned in a previous class and put it into practice in the next class. For example, if your previous class was “Home and Neighbourhood” you can incorporate that into the small talk section at the beginning of the lesson by talking about something new you have bought for your house, your neighbours, or an event that has happened in your neighbourhood recently. At Kensington we feel that small talk is a very important skill that most Japanese students, low and high level, have difficulty with. This is sometimes connected to the fact that only a week has passed since the last class and there isn’t much to talk about so why not use this as an opportunity for review.

やあみなさん
みなさんに何回も復習、復習、復習と言ってきました。もちろん復習はとても大切ですが、「学んだことを使うこと」がより重要なのです。
今日の私のアドバイスは、
前回のレッスンで学んだことを、次回のレッスンの中で練習する！
例えば、もし前回のレッスンが「家と隣人」なら、自宅や隣人用に買った新しいものや、最近近所で起こったイベントについてレッスンの最初のスモールトークのパートで話しを組み込むことができます。ケンジントンでは、スモールトークは初級、上級のレベルに関わらず、苦手意識を持つ日本人の生徒さんにとってとても重要だと感じています。
実際には、前回のレッスンからたった1週間が過ぎた時にはまだ十分に話すことができないかもしれません。だから次のレッスンを復習のための機会として使いましょう！
