Hi there,
Since we are talking about home and neighbourhood this weekend and we have also discussed British Pubs in the past, let's talk about this English phrase today.
“on the house”
If you are a regular customer at a bar in Britain and you get to know the staff well they will occasionally treat you to a free drink. When the bar staff give you your drink (hopefully a pint) and they say it’s “on the house” this means you don’t have to pay for it!
It may seem strange to you that the phrase is on the house but the word pub is an abbreviation of public house.

今週末は家と隣人について話し、以前にイギリスのパブについても話し合ったので、今日はこの英語のフレーズをご紹介します。
“on the house お店からのサービス”
もしあなたがイギリスのバーの顧客でスタッフと親しくなったなら、彼らはたまに無料で飲み物をくれるでしょう。バーのスタッフが飲み物をくれる時（願わくば1パイントで）、彼らは”on the house”と言い、この分は支払わなくていいですよ、という意味です！
on the houseというフレーズは奇妙に見えるかもしれませんが、実は、”pub"という単語は、” public hous” の略なのです。
